  1. Motions

Motion 1. Independently examined accounts. Attached are the independently examined accounts for the Trust for 2009. These will be presented to the AGM, for acceptance. (Appendix B)

Motion 2. Debt from the Club

As reported in the Annual Accounts, the Trust loaned the Club £1811 in 2008 to purchase stock for the Club Shop. The Club paid off some of this money in kind (hospitality boxes etc) but when the Club went into administration, £1111 was still outstanding and this was lodged as a debt with the Administrators. In line with the agreed Company Voluntary Arrangement a total of £711 (64pence in the £) has been written off as a bad debt in the 2009 accounts. This leaves an outstanding debt of £400. The Trust Board proposes that the pursuance of this debt from the Club is not in the best interests of the Trust or the Club and our recommendation is that the members agree to the debt being written off completely.

The motion is therefore to write off the outstanding debt of £400 owed by the Club.

Motion 3: Sponsorship of Northwich Juniors

Since the last AGM when members voted to sponsor new strips for the Northwich Vics Juniors, a further five teams have been set up by NVJFC. We have been approached by Trust Members regarding the new Girls Teams, who missed out on new strips. The total cost for five new strips is £3500.

The motion is that the Trust agrees to donate £1000 to NVJFC towards the purchase of additional strips for the new teams.

  1. Proxy voting

If you wish to vote, but can’t attend the AGM, please complete the attached proxy voting form and return to the address on the form.

  1. Recent Board decisions

2010/11 season

The Trust Board is hoping to meet with Jim to discuss the issues facing the Club at the moment. It is the Board's view that life in the Evo-Stik Premier division would not be the end of the world. It has the advantage that creditors of the Club would receive some payment through the CVA and there are a number of potentially large gates to look forward to, probably more so than the Conference North (FC United, FC Halifax, Nantwich etc). It is the Board's opinion that a period of rebuilding and consolidation at a lower level could well be better for the long term stability of the Club, than trying to maintain a position in the Blue Square North.

Ring-fenced Trust Funds

There have been comments made from Trust members and non-members, that the Trust should not retain funds, but should give them to the Club. It is the Board's view that at no time in the past five years, would the donation of ALL the Trust's funds prevent the Club from entering administration, or prevent the debt that the Club now faces. Our view is that we will continue to support the Club as we can, and should the situation change, where the input of a sizeable injection of cash would help the long term sustainability of the Club, we would then approach members to decide how to proceed.

If you would like to comment, or disagree with these views, please let us know.
