Well it's that time of year again! How would you like to be more involved in running the Trust? We are looking for nominations for people to join the Trust Board for 2012 -13.
The Trust Board is responsible for directing the activities of the Trust and carrying out the administration associated with running it. This involves managing membership and finances, but most importantly the Board looks at how best we can deliver on our objectives, best serve our members and make the Trust a key part of the Club.
Every year, half the elected Trust Board members need to stand down on rotation and seek re-election if they want to continue. This year, two people are standing down, Paul Stockton and Brian Edge have come to the end of their two year period and this means that there are five places up for election. (Note: the role of Secretary is not an elected post, and is appointed by the new Board after each AGM)
As a result of our recent rule change, we have now adopted the Supporters Direct template standing orders and the election policy and board membership and conduct policy are
attached to the bottom of this item, along with a nomination form.
The AGM is provisionally planned for 8 weeks time (around 12th July 2012). If a contested election is needed it will be managed to result in an announcement of the vote at the AGM. If only 5 people stand, then the members will be asked at the AGM to endorse the appointment of the people nominated. Full details of the policy are provided in the Election Policy document.
If you are interested in being on the Trust Board, then please complete the nomination form, seeking nominations from two trust members. The rules by wish you agree to abide and the criteria which you need to meet in order to be considered for the board is listed in the Board Membership and Conduct Policy.
Nomination forms need to be returned to Maggie Nixon by 31st May 2012.
