TOPIC: Lights are on but nobody home......

Lights are on but nobody home...... 1 year 1 day ago #98194

I very rarely get into Northwich these days, but happened to go past the Vics Shop today.

Couldn't help but be impressed how it looked - lots of stock, well lit, inviting.....
But the overwhelming impression was that it was EMPTY.
Nobody behind the counter, nobody in the shop. Nada.

How is the club paying the rent & running costs for this operation ?
(OK, silly question, I know it will just end up being on another debtor list).

On reflection, I thought this typifies the club over the past few years.
Lovely looking ground - not paid for and taken off us.
Great looking teams - kicked in the teeth and relegated.
Personable and eloquent owner - a poor mans Del Boy.

Maybe the shop should consider stocking smoke & mirrors.

I reckon Stevie Boy must have been in the back, putting the finishing touches to the model of the new 7000 capacity super stadium. I also reckon the shop will be paid for like everything else, by NOT being paid for! (E.G taxes, national insurance, footballing debts, the coach company that took the team to matches, the school the team trained at ETC ETC ETC ETC)

There is usually somebody at the back - ie Dave Thomas. Behind the boards towards the back of the shop - they have an 'office' there. So generally Dave / Tracy or someone is behind there. If it's open just pop in I'm sure there will be someone there to help.

You may have a fresh start any moment you choose, for this thing we call 'failure' is not the falling down, but the staying down
