TOPIC: Trophies

Trophies 1 year 2 weeks ago #97181

With the real likelihood that NVFC(2007) (2004) etc will cease to exist soon, what can be done to secure the original Cheshire Senior Cup and any other silverware for the local community/fans? Is the trophy still at the VS? Is it in Jim's shed?

Probably in the window of Cash Converters, the proceeds of which are funding McNally.

From what I'm aware of; when the original 1874 club merged with Davenham and Hartford St. John's in 1890, the original club became defunct, and therefore the original CSC was given to Northwich Library 'for the people of Northwich'. So I'm pretty sure it belongs in the library for the people of Northwich to see, and no owner of the club can take it as I'm pretty sure it doesn't belong to them.

Some years ago I went to Northwich Library and asked to see the original CSC. They had absolutely no idea or interest in what I was talking about .
I thought it lost forever and was delighted when it appeared in the Showcase at the VS and I was able to get my photograph.
I totally agree it needs to be taken care of during the current troubles, but the library would come last in my list of Options .
I imagine Jim is keeping safe it for the new stadium.

Last I heard Cheshire FA had secured it.
You may have a fresh start any moment you choose, for this thing we call 'failure' is not the falling down, but the staying down

Indeed they have. Safe and sound.
