I don't envy the Trust Board trying to find a way forward in all this mess. My feeling is now changing in that whilst I supported the Trust's 'don't set up in competition' approach I think circumstances are changing rapidly and now is the time to go for it. It may be kinder for the fans to kill off Basil's company quickly by setting up an alternative rather than just letting it die slowly in a corner and then find we are too late to get in a league next year.
Worrying, sad, exciting and thought provoking all at once?
The Trust Board will inevitably act upon the wishes of the fans, whatever that might be. Tomorrow's meeting surely has to give a strong indication of how the wind is blowing in that respect?
1) If only a small pocket of supporters attend the Open Meeting and grasp that opportunity to have their say (whatever that might be) that would suggest a very long and hard road for any Supporters backed club.
If on the other hand:
2) A healthy number of fans attend the meeting, have their say (whatever that might be) and get involved in constructive debate, then we all have the opportunity to shape the future of the club.
Yes it will be worrying, sad, exciting and thought provoking, but I don't see that it can be any other way now; we have to bite the bullet.
