TOPIC: Boycott of Bradford PA Game

Re: Boycott of Bradford PA Game 1 year 1 month ago #95285

Evening All,

I can't remember the last time that I posted something on this Forum, but I don't there has been a single thread that I've not read in that time.

Whilst not in anyway surprised, I was bouncing off the walls after what came out on Friday evening. Never in my whole time supporting our great Football Club have I felt so ashamed, embarrassed and heartbroken at what it has become. It really hit me, my single biggest low point as a loyal supporter.

I feel deeply hurt by the way Jim has serially mis-managed Northwich Victoria. His actions have been nothing short of negligent. The proud name of this Club has been dragged through the mud. For me, not many things in life hurt more than watching the Club I have loved and supported so long be brought to its knees. I am genuinely beside myself.

Vics has been a huge part of my family for decades and have been the source of so much pride, happiness and joy. My Dad started taking me to Vics as a young boy, the Club that he had so passionately supported through thick and thin for years beforehand. Some of the stories he has to tell are nothing short of magical, you can never get bored of hearing them. Even my Mum recalls her time watching the Vics with so much joy.

I remember as an 8 year old boy in 1996, standing on my seat at Wembley watching us lose 3-1 to Macclesfield in the FA Trophy Final, but still proud as punch, waving my Northwich Victoria flag as high in the air as I possibly could. Proud to be watching The Vics play on the biggest footballing stage in the Country. Proud to be supporting the mighty Greens. This has been my Club from that day onwards and has become a major part of my life. I can't imagine life without The Vics. As crazy as it sounds, I still firmly believe that the single best moment of my life thus far was when Gregg Blundell bundled the third goal into the net in our 3-2 win at Chester on New Year's Day 2003.

I look at myself, and I look at my Dad. We've been so lucky to have Vics to support as boys and now as men. One day I will potentially have Children, maybe even Grandchildren, and I want to ensure that they too have a Football Club in Northwich, playing in Green and White, that they can be proud of and who I can pass the history of this Club on to. A Club that is run by the fans, for the fans. A Club that retains the proud history of Northwich Victoria and moves forward as a sustainable, properly run business that has a presence in the local community and excellent relationships with local businesses and local people.

Very soon surely, an opportunity to make that happen will present itself to us, the Supporters, and we must grab it with both hands and embrace it. We can not let 138 Years of history and memories die with the current generation and we can not let one man render this the end of our wonderful Football Club.

Reading this Forum and talking to fellow fans recently has brought me to one conclusion - Northwich Victoria will never die. We are a group of proud, passionate and fiercely loyal supporters who love their Football Club, and because of that, Northwich Victoria will rise from the ashes and move forward under the stewardship of the Fans.

This will be one hell of a battle, but there is nobody I'd rather walk into battle with than a group of angry Northwich Victoria Supporters. We are this Football Club, nobody else.

Well said Mr Dignum. We are the club, we are the history and we are the future - we will not let Jim take Northwich Victoria away from us!

Jesus Andy, you certainly know how to start the water works.
Please, please, please put this into Andy Simpson, it's an absolute gem mate.
You may have a fresh start any moment you choose, for this thing we call 'failure' is not the falling down, but the staying down

Would just like to encourage those who are attending tomorrow to show their disgust towards Rushe throughout the match. As someone else said, he has been allowed to do his lap of honour with no dissent, even recently. Good luck to those who plan to gain admittance for no charge, or are intent on watching the game from outside the ground. And finally, good luck to Vics on the pitch.

True, but Jim Rushe spent money he never had and it's contributed to the mess we are in now.

I'm not blaming the fans, I'm just saying that some fans back Jim Rushe because he has delivered us some success. The ironic thing is that we have done well on the pitch, but still been relegated all those leagues. Andy Simpson wrote something about this.

Terrifc post btw Andy :Scarf:

Are you reading Andy's post Jim? Hope you are.
