New Members 1 year 1 month ago #94938

Lets try and create something positive out of what happened yesterday.

Over the last 24 hours every time I've looked at the the bottom of the forum home page it shows there have been between 100 and 200 guests on this forum at any one instance in time. So its clear there is a massive interest in what is happening.

The Trust run this forum and its where everyone turns for the latest news as there isnt any up to date news on any official club website.

So at the very least lets all show our support for all the work the trust is going to have to do over the coming weeks and months. Sign up as a member even if its only as a bronze member. Then we can all have a say in the way forward.

I've done mine today - so who else is in?

It would be nice if the Trust could say they have gained 100 members - just to show Mr Rushe and his cronies that we are not taking this lying down.

Good post but please remember that the Trust Board are all Vics fans, with their own commitments, who dedicate what spare time they have to the club and fans. They are going to need more than new members, they can't do all this work on their own while we sit back waiting for results, so ALL fans should prepare to lend a helping hand.
You may have a fresh start any moment you choose, for this thing we call 'failure' is not the falling down, but the staying down

Spot on Tony

Probably been said before but a new club will need people with all kinds of skills, electricians, DIY experts, painters, legal experts, graphic designers, marketing, legal advisors, public relations etc... or just people who are prepared to give up time to help in anyway they can......would be good if the trust could leave a place where people could leave details if they are willing to help even if they cant spare much time...they could leave their area of expertise or just say they are willing to help and the amount of time they could realistically give up....also maybe offer companies the opportunity to help in return for advertising space or something.

A new club will require an army of volunteers and so we should get cracking to mobilise the community as much as possible as next season is not far away

I think the first step has to be to publicise as widely as possible the truth of the whole situation, not just to get wavering fans onside but also to spread the word amongst the local business community and the wider football community - before rescuing the club's name and identity for future use becomes impossible.

This is where social media come into their own. For example, those are on Twitter should by now have retweeted the 200% article tweets, the Trust statement tweet, Andy Simpson's analysis article tweet and any other positive tweets which come their way. It costs nothing and takes a fraction of a second.
Etcetera.

There's sadly not much practical help I can offer from down here, but if anyone ever needs my own brand of verbosity in getting things written and out into the wider world, I can offer my two hands at the keyboard!

Sent the article on to Gary Taylor-Fletcher on twitter who has retweeted to everyone who follows him. Top bloke! We need more of this though. The 200% article is as close as I have seen anyone sum up the situation without being in the middle of it (AS is doing a great job too), so if we can get this into the masses the wider world will see what is really happening.

I've become a bronze member today.

There were forms for fans to fill in at the end of the last meeting, if they were interested in volunteering with a new club.
