Which makes me wonder if he's actually on board with this plan or is he being forced into it?
Perhaps JR's bosses have finally taken his performance over the last 3 years into consideration!
agreement be made with all parties that if the land is purchased and a later date vics i hope not do fold they could use the land for the use of a new club
I think the following answers one party's position - what about the others?
We have publicly stated that should the existing club have a credible, sustainable plan, bringing Vics back to Northwich, then we would support this. But we do not apologise for trying to be prepared, if the worst should happen.
Given the situation the club is in (whoever the club really is!) you shouldn't be surprised at Steve McNally's approach. The club obviously has to buy time for whatever plan they have so distancing themselves from the Trust and trying to undermine their reputation is tactically a sensible move. Politicians have sound bites and repeat them continuously because the reality is some people will eventually come to believe it. Given the tone of the clubs messages via McNally it is obviously not the fans views that matter to them - but you can bet that CWAC's views do.
However, given the excellent exchange of information between fans and various Trusts, the club will struggle to retain credibility with councillors at the Chester end of the county given the previous links with Vaughan. It would also be interesting to know local councillors views given the disastrous relationship between Rushe and local businesses.
If he (or whoever) can regain any degree of credibility after all that has gone on then he/they deserve a new stadium and a team in the 2nd Division. Can't be bothered finding it now but did McNally actually define which 2nd division?
One day we'll look back on this and laugh!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
