How have I done either of your two statements?

I really do object because your not reading what I have posted and you are putting me in a category I do not belong in.

I would ask you to think what your last statement and withdraw it as it is simple not true or warranted.

Will

The last 2 statements apply to everybody!

Now this forum use to always be like this, passionate, heated debate, personal insults and personal opinions fought out over the message board. But recently it's turned into a farce, with naive, insecure simpletons taking offence at everything and pressing the 'Report to Moderators' button, it's pathetic!

To be fair, there's been nothing reported in weeks, and the only posts moderated (at least by me) have been personal insults. There's barely been anything removed in it's entirety (although it may look different considering how quiet it's been!)

Good! Pleased to hear it Mark, glad that the pacifists aren't getting it all their way.
You may have a fresh start any moment you choose, for this thing we call 'failure' is not the falling down, but the staying down

I think that a lot of people have 'let off steam' in this thread and perhaps that's no bad thing.

As Mark said, there's been no reported posts for quite a while now and apart from a few isolated tit-for-tat arguments, the Forum has been flowing well, if a little quietly as expected in close season.

One thing I will say though is to Tony / Green Mushroom. You are entitled to your opinion regarding the use of the 'report to moderator' function. However, it remains the policy of this Forum that its use is to be encouraged. Tony, not everyone has your confidence - there has to be a way of contacting the moderators away from the public side of the forum.

I agree with you in that it is preferable for Forum contributors, in the first instance, to discuss any posts they disagree with in public on the forum or directly via PM with the person concerned. However, there still should be the option to contact moderators directly - every forum contributor should have the right to raise a complaint about posts without fear of 'retaliation'.

People who use the 'report to moderator' function are not anonymous to the moderators and any abuse of the system will not be tolerated.

It's been 10 hours since the last post and everyone's had a chance to sleep on what's been said.
Folk have got things 'off their chest' and it's out there for everyone to consider. I can't see further posts adding to the debate without it getting into a spiralling argument, so I'm closing the thread now, whilst the forum is somewhat calm.
